Sample Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor:

I recently received an email from a close friend asking me to visit www.blessingsinadversity.com.  I’m not usually one to follow these forward links, but for some reason that day I did.  What I found was a story that touched my heart and renewed my belief in the fact that I am in control of my own success and failures in life.  The main premise of this site is how we choose to view our failures and use them to create future success for ourselves.  Blessingsinadversity.com was developed by “Stack the Logs” author Frank F. Lunn and St. Jude dad.

He tells the story of his family’s greatest encounter with adversity when his young son Frankie was diagnosed with Leukemia.  Frank explains the personal struggle to find blessings in his son’s battle with Leukemia, and shares how each of us can find blessings in our own adversities if we “look for them”.

In order to attempt to repay just some of the generosity of St. Jude, and to help prevent other families from going through the same battle against cancer, Frank and his many friends and business associates set up this site to issue a challenge to raise 1 Million dollars in 30 days in support of St. Jude Children's Research hospital.  In the next 30 days, from August 1 to August 31, this team coined “Operation Blessings in Adversity” to raise 1 Million dollars for the children of St. Jude.

I invite you all to take a look at www.blessingsinadversity.com for yourself.  You will, at the very least, leave with a fresh outlook on your day!
