2005 Blessings In Adversity
Campaign Overview

The Kahuna Empowerment team is now gearing up for the 2005 Blessings In Adversity campaign - our fundraiser to raise $1 million for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The program overview is below:

Blessings In Adversity (BIA) is two things:

1) 2005 Annual Blessings In Adversity Campaign - an entrepreneurial internet marketing campaign sponsored by Kahuna Empowerment, Inc. in conjunction with the newly created Kahuna Charitable Foundation - a Not-for-Profit Corporation. The campaign will be active for the 30 days of September coinciding with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Please note - we are committed to the cause of "Finding cures. Saving children." Although we are not directly affiliated with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 100 percent of proceeds go to St. Jude.

2) The Blessings In Adversity Life Strategy - the belief and practice of Applied Practical Optimism. We can't always choose or control our circumstances, but we can choose our response, attitude and actions that follow. After we have time to process the normal human emotions of grief, anger, despair, etc. it is time to focus on the future and respond based on our goals. Being miserable and depressed will not change the situation, but when you take action to look for, discover, create and nurture opportunities within the situation, you can find and develop Blessings In Adversity!

Main Objectives of 2005 Blessings In Adversity Campaign:

  • Raise National Awareness for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in their work, success, needs and pioneering research in their mission: "Finding cures. Saving children."

  • Raise significant money for St. Jude.
    • Our pinnacle goal is $1 million representing one day's operating expenses.
    • In our inaugural year we raised $25,000.
    • We are not tightly focused on a specific amount as much as doing the best we can, and practicing what we preach in order to learn, adapt and improve each year.

  • Share the beautiful lives of Maya Pettit and Nick Rudolph, two beautiful lives who have sadly passed on. They are still, along with their families, part of the extended St. Jude family and significant blessings to the Lunn family.
